North Dakota Chief Information Officer Shawn Riley today announced a memorandum of understanding between the State of North Dakota Information Technology (NDIT) department and the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara (MHA) Nation to provide managed security services for the purpose of protecting the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of tribal information systems and data.

The North Dakota Information Technology (NDIT) department today announced that the Multistate-Information Sharing & Analysis Center (MS-ISAC) playbook is available on the Palo Alto Networks Cortex XSOAR Marketplace, the industry’s largest and most comprehensive security orchestration marketplace. The content pack from NDIT on Cortex XSOAR’s Marketplace provides customers with the ability to fetch MS-ISAC events and alert details. North Dakota is the first state to have a playbook published in the Cortex XSOAR Marketplace.

Gov. Doug Burgum today congratulated the high school teams signed up to participate in the ND Cyber Madness tournament. Ten high school teams from nine high schools across North Dakota have enrolled in the free cyber tournament to take place Feb. 10-12 at Bismarck State College Center of Excellence.

Fort Yates Middle School will be taking part in 'Hour of Code™’ on Dec. 9. Staff from North Dakota Information Technology-EduTech, Microsoft Teals, and North Dakota Department of Public Instruction have collaborated to plan this schoolwide event. Fort Yates Middle School educators and administration are implementing many facets into this event, to include career awareness focused on computer science and cybersecurity and emphasize Indigenous connections to the topics.

'Hour of Code™ will take place statewide on Thursday, Dec. 9 between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The 'Hour of Code™’ is a global movement introducing tens of millions of students worldwide to computer science, inspiring kids to learn more, breaking stereotypes, and leaving them feeling empowered. Held in conjunction with Computer Science Education Week, the event is part of a broader effort to give students of all ages opportunities to learn about coding and computer science as foundational skills for the workforce of the future.
