Gov. Doug Burgum has proclaimed October 2024 as Cybersecurity Awareness Month in North Dakota to encourage residents and businesses around the state to safeguard their digital environments against sophisticated and widespread threats. 

Thirty-six teams composing of fifteen schools from across the state competed in a virtual first round, with the top eleven teams competing in-person at the University of Mary in Bismarck.

This exciting competition aims to introduce and encourage students to explore their interests, expand their horizons, and potentially pave the way for future careers in information technology and cyber security.

Hackers can compromise public charging stations by installing malicious software or hardware that can transfer data from your device without your knowledge.

Students will explore cybersecurity concepts, attack vectors, coding principles, and more through a series of cybersecurity challenges. These challenges will include, but are not limited to, Capture the Flag (CTF), Jeopardy style, and other educational toolsets.
