BISMARCK, N.D. – “It is with profound sadness that I share my condolences on the passing of Representative Josh Christy. Josh was more than a legislator—he was a trusted colleague, a dedicated public servant, a true leader in technology and innovation, and a personal friend.

Despite this being only his second session, Josh quickly distinguished himself as a thoughtful and practical voice in the legislature. His expertise and passion for technology were unmatched, and his leadership was instrumental in shaping North Dakota’s approach to artificial intelligence. As the driving force behind the state’s inaugural AI Task Force, he helped lay the foundation for North Dakota’s future in emerging technologies.

I had the privilege of serving alongside Josh in the legislature and working closely with him on the IT Committee. His insight, collaboration, and unwavering commitment to making government more efficient and forward-thinking will have a lasting impact on our state. More importantly, Josh was a kind and soft-spoken leader who earned the respect of everyone he worked with.

North Dakota has lost a visionary and a friend. My heart goes to the family Josh leaves behind, including his wife Mary and their three beautiful girls, Reagan, Abby, and Olivia. May they find strength and comfort in the legacy of service and leadership he leaves behind. My thoughts are with them, his colleagues, and all who had the honor of knowing him.”
