Bismarck, ND     |     North Dakota Information Technology’s Chief Technology Officer Duane Schell has been selected as the Secretary/Treasurer on the 2020 Executive Board of the National Association of State Technology Directors (NASTD). The organization represents information technology professionals from all 50 states who are involved in all facets of managing technology services and facilities for state and public entities.

“This is a great opportunity not only for North Dakota to share the ways we’re using technology to empower people, improve lives and inspire success, but it gives us valuable insights into best practices and thought leadership nationwide as part of our commitment to continuous improvement, “ said Schell.

“North Dakota is transforming the ways we harness technology to serve citizens, from data management and analytics to how we use artificial intelligence to solve business needs,” said Chief Information Officer Shawn Riley. “This leadership position will open new avenues for us to elevate these kinds of priorities as relevant to virtually every industry and public and private sector organization.”

This member-driven organization’s purpose is to advance and promote the effective use of information technology and services to improve the operation of state government. NASTD offers member benefits including networking, shared resources and professional development opportunities including regional calls and an annual conference. NASTD was founded in 1978 and has been an affiliate of the Council of State Governments since 1980.
